The Cypress Schools

Celebrity Visitor to Cypress Junior School

On Monday we were visited by David Suchet (TV’s Poirot) accompanied by an ITV camera crew.  David is filming a documentary about his grandfather, a photographer who took a very famous photo of Albert Einstein.

David had heard about our Inventor’s club and the awards we had won.  He gave a special assembly and talked to the whole school about this.  He also told us a funny story about Albert Einstein!

We were all given an Einstein mask to wear and David took a photograph of us all with the masks on using his grandfather’s camera.  It was lovely to be able to take these away as souvenirs.

David was very kind and approachable and was happy to sign autographs for our award-winning Inventors (and some staff!).  He commented on how impressed he was with our behaviour in assembly.

It may take a few months to complete work on the film but we will let you know when we hear that it is going to air.

Here are our inventors with David, wearing their Emergency Health Band, and local inventor Bill Currie.
